Internal (By laws) and Breeding rules

                                                           


1)        Any dog/bitch under 36cm according to  FCI breed  standards is allowed to
be a Member of our club and can take part in any event of the Cyprus Club of
Small Breeds. Subsequently any breed under 36cm  according to  FCI breed  
standards is submitted to the Cyprus Club of Small Breeds rules and regulations

2)        All dogs/bitches are subject to minimum one dog show to obtain a breeding
right  over 9 months old if obtained the award of very good and above.

3)        German spitz is divided in 3 categories (zwerg, klein and mittel) Each size is
sub divided to various colours and can compete according to FCI rules.

4)        Interbreeding: A swergspitz (Pomeranian)  is allowed to mate only with a
swergspitz Pomeranian).

5)        Interbreeding: A klein spitz is allowed to mate only with klein  spitz.

White colour  klein spitz is allowed to mate with white klein  spitz.
All other colour klein spitz is allowed to mate with all other colour klein spitz

6)        Interbreeding: A mittel spitz is allowed to mate only with mittel  spitz .
White colour  mittel spitz is allowed to mate with white mittel  spitz.
All other colour mittel spitz is allowed to mate with all other colour mittel  spitz

7)        All german spitz , poodles and dachshunds must be measured and
classified at least once in their lifetime after the age of  9 months old.

8)        All  papillons  and griffons have to be examined and classified if  necessary
at least once in their lifetime after the age of  9 months old.

9)        Miniature schnauzers are allowed to mate as follows: pepper/salt is allowed
to mate to pepper/salt,

White is allowed to mate to white , black is allowed to mate to black and black/silver
is allowed  to mate to black/silver.

10)         Parson Russells and Jack Russell terriers are to be subject to
examination for the livre d’attende (RISH)


11)         Dogs with eliminating faults such as  congenital deafness or blindness ,
PRA, patella luxation , have to be  submitted for evaluation and certification
voluntary for the  affected   animals until 2010. Evaluation and certification for
dogs free of  hereditary defects which could impair the functional health of its



descendants is compulsory after 2010 to obtain full breeding rights. A breeder-   
member shall strive to conform to the FCI breed Standards, to improve progeny,
and to reduce faults  to a minimum.


12)         No member or exhibitor shall have surgery performed on any dog under
36cm to alter cosmetic features. An exhibitor-member shall not alter a dog’s
natural appearance except as provided  in the FCI breed standard.


13)        Each member of the Cyprus Club of Small Breeds shall at all times display
good sportsmanship and conduct. Whether at home, traveling, at shows or hotels
they will treat all present, including competitors, judges, officials and spectators
with respect and courtesy.


14) No Member shall engage  in false advertising. Good sportsmanship is
expected of each member/exhibitor of the Cyprus Club of Small Breeds in and out
of the show ring. No member should malign another, either his person or his dog.
Members will refrain from knowingly making unfair or untrue statements about the
dogs or practices of others.


15) Healthy spacing between litters will be a priority and anspayed bitches will be
protected from unplanned matings. Bitches will in no case be bred they are at least
14 months of age.


16) Assistance and encouragement shall be willingly offered by
members/exhibitors to show novices, newcomers and others needing advice and
guidance. The welfare of breeds under 36cm will be in the hands of novices in the
future.


17) All dog should be kept under safe and sanitary conditions, be given maximum
health  care and protection, including regular inoculations and proper nutrition and
good exercise.


18) Apprentice Judges concerning  breeds that are ruled by Cyprus Club  of Small
Breeds are subject to minimum one apprenticeship in a specialty show of the
Cyprus Club of Small Breeds.


19)        Breeds that need working trial  like: jack Russell terrier, parson russel, &
dachshund,  according to Cyprus Kennel Club internal rules that were suggested
dated 1998 by the board of the CKC and approved in 2000 by the General
Assembly,  are subject to working trials according to the FCI breed standard, if
they are Champion candidates.


20) Working trials concerning breeds of the Cyprus Club of Small Breeds are to
be     organized by or under the supervision of the Cyprus Club of Small Breeds.
